Waypoint Local helps people discover places worth visiting nearby. This Privacy Policy explains what information Waypoint Local collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information Waypoint Local collects

### Location information

Waypoint Local may request access to your device location when you choose to find places, quick ideas, or events near you. Location access is used to sort and show nearby discovery results.

Location permission is used for nearby discovery features such as finding worthwhile places, local ideas, and events around your current area.

If you deny location permission, you can still browse places in the app.

### Place suggestions

If you submit a place suggestion, Waypoint Local may collect the details you provide, including:

• place name
• category
• city
• description
• address
• website or social link
• optional submitter name
• optional submitter email

Optional submitter name and email are used only to review, clarify, or follow up about a suggestion. They are not intended to appear publicly in place listings.

### Device and usage information

Waypoint Local may receive basic technical information from third-party services used to operate the app, such as maps, place data, event data, storage, and backend infrastructure. This may include device, network, diagnostic, or API request information handled by those services.

How information is used

Waypoint Local uses information to:

• show and sort nearby places
• display maps, directions, place details, and place photos
• receive and review community place suggestions
• prevent spam, unsafe submissions, duplicates, and inaccurate listings
• improve app quality and reliability
• respond to support or privacy requests

Public place listings

Approved place suggestions may appear publicly in Waypoint Local. Public listings may include place details such as name, city, category, description, address, website, image, map location, and similar place information.

Submitter contact information should not be shown in public listings.

Third-party services

Waypoint Local uses third-party services to operate app features, including:

• **Supabase** for backend database, storage, authentication infrastructure, and app data hosting
• **Google Maps Platform / Google Places** for maps, directions, place details, location-based results, and place photos
• **Ticketmaster Discovery API** for event listings when event search is enabled
• **Expo / React Native infrastructure** for app build and runtime functionality

These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Data retention

Waypoint Local keeps submitted place suggestions for as long as needed to review, approve, reject, display, audit, or improve app listings. Rejected or duplicate suggestions may be retained for moderation and abuse-prevention purposes.

Users may request deletion of personal contact information associated with a submitted suggestion by using the support contact listed in the final published policy.

Children’s privacy

Waypoint Local is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact Waypoint Local so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Security

Waypoint Local uses Supabase Row Level Security and app-side controls to help protect submitted data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so Waypoint Local cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can:

• deny or revoke location permission in your device settings
• browse without sharing location
• choose not to provide optional name or email when submitting a place
• request deletion or correction of personal contact information associated with a suggestion
